Child's Eye...haix

To watch a horror (spiritual-theme) movie is like an expansion to the third dimension into something unknown yet. It is something which can possibly be explained by science or to some extent, maybe not entirely. Perhaps, it is a completely different realm which can only be experienced when you are in it.
eg: When you are dead and your soul leaves your body and I supposed that's when you can be in that third dimension. LOL...

Yea, many thought it's a waste of good money to buy a ticket to a horror show just to get yourself spooked. I don't know but I am watching all interesting movies regardless of genre and it really is entertaining to watch creativity being molded into graphical reality. However, I must say that the Child's Eye by Pang's brothers is nothing to be compared to their very first break-through of The Eye. I love The Eye (as much as I love The Shutter) for its originality and storyline.

The plots of their movies go down hill after The Eye. I watched most of their creations and felt truly disappointed with all except The Eye and Re-cycle.

The Eye 2 and The Eye 10 are bad, seriously. I watched though because I was very impressed with The Eye and I thought they are the Master in making original eastern-infused horror movie. I guess they are having a hiatus?

The Eye was really good after years of watching lousy horror movie with no storyline while Re-cycle carries a really good message in it; a rather sad one though. Anyways, everything has got a expiry date and will then eventually be forgotten and re-cycled once the due date is passed. I am still waiting to be proven wrong.
And of course, there's another moral to the movie; something regarding abortion. Oh well, it's 4 years back and so I don't quite remember that part-- for all I remember, it's sad.

So, back to the Child's Eye, I was expecting something more but however, with that said, I was still frightened by the sudden sound of the soundtrack as well as that camera-plunge-movements. It has got a weak script but at several camera angles, it does the trick in frightening you.

In this, I see a different morale from Gecko.
Gecko: To kill smaller animals is inhumane.
Bunny: (diverts) To kill during pregnancy is a definite no-no and there are so much that a pregnant woman should avoid.

(It is inhumane and unethical to use smaller animals in the name of greater good in science but then again, sometimes, it is inevitable. Cell culture may present a good model for experimental purposes but then again, there are various factors to it that may lead to inaccuracies. As to compensate such inaccuracies, an animal model is used as a confirmation to the uncertainties found in experiments using cell culture.
Both models has to go in parallel for better understanding of a concept yet to be ascertained as a fact.
Okay, whatever it is...sometimes, it just has to be done on the basis of logical reasons.)

Besides, as the same goes for most horror movies, the main morale is that one should not harbor grudge; because it is like an evil seed. Grudge towards a certain event or person will eventually grow into a tree of hatred that grips tightly to one's soul to an extent that leads oneself towards self-destruction as well as creating inconvenience to others.

As to conclude, I would say that The Child's Eye is one movie to go for if you wanted a good scare from the soundtrack. The storyline is weak and somehow, in the end; logics are erased from the movie (because you will find that two humans got transported between two places and you'll have no idea how that happened as no clues were offered beforehand. One can assumed that they may be possessed to walk back to the hotel). The ending isn't conclusive but I made an assumption that an accident happened and possibly caused by unrest spirits from the haunted hotel.

By the way, Do Not go for the 3D version. It makes no difference, really.

Pearson Book Warehouse SALE 2009

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH (screams on >.< ) I don't know but I never get this excited when there's a sale. I don't get so high over boutique sales either. This struck me like an Ice Cream sale (if there is ever one - besides the Baskin Robin 31% discount on every 31st of the month). This is like..AMAZING! So wonderful that it puts MPH and Popular books sale to shame. Seriously, judge it for yourself. The price, variety and number of books being on sale is so generous that even a friend of mine don't believe it when I told him I got 4 books at only RM60. Honestly, books are supposed to be sold at an affordable price just as how I always think that movie tickets should be sold at a fixed and reasonable price. Else, how can they battle with pirates (as in piracy)?! Hell to whichever department or board that says movie tickets are to be priced differently based on the location. If they further increase the level of censoring as well as the entertainment price of the ticket, I bet in the nearer future all cinema would have been taken over by pirates. Just as how books are! Imported ones are priced in the range of RM30 to over a hundred ringgit or more. C'mon, books are meant to increase one's knowledge besides providing endless fun to the reader -- so how can parents plant reading habits into the younger ones when books are downright expensive with so limited places for them to borrow books? Even parents themselves wouldn't read as much if books are so expensive to get. Sooner or later, reading would become a luxury. I reckon that our beloved PM can do something about this. Perhaps by scraping the F1 'goal' and channel that money into research, education and other better things! Sighs...maybe I should take that back. A man that smart wouldn't bother with all these nitty things, would he? (obvious answer is NO, huh)

I am so glad that I didn't miss this one (I always miss great sales) out 'coz I have been wanting to buy some books to read (I have been shying away from reading due to the lack of time in revising for finals last time). Then again, like I mentioned, reading seems to be a luxury when the book price is high and there is no where to borrow books, hence I was extremely happy when I found about this sale.

It truly is a warehouse sale as most books are pretty dusty and you don't get latest arrivals on sale. Then again, these books (of all genre from non-fiction to fiction, general to hobbies, children's to adults, education to sudoku's) are priced between RM4 to RM15 (in general, prices can go up to RM60 - that an example for hardcover Harry Potter ). Truly a bargain! Thus, I don't mind the dust and warm surrounding at all as I happily browse through the racks for interesting titles.

Anyways, it ain't too bad as the organiser had been thoughtful enough to place plenty of fans for ventilation as well as to cool down the warmness. I do not know how crowded can the place go but I'm glad that I went on a weekday :) The place is not huge and comfortable but it's okay -- it's just that if everyone goes on the weekends, the place will become sardine can. The only consolation in this case is maybe -- the presence of 2 credit card and cash counters each.

The Dark Knight

Gotham City, the fictional corrupted and seemingly decayed city where lived the ever so famous, Batman. Little did I know, this place does exist. It's actually small village in Nottinghamshire, England but of course, this City is not based on that village.

Anyways, I only remember the 1989's Batman, directed by Tim Burton – that was the one and only Batman which I ever like. The following Batman movies such as Batman Forever and Batman & Robin were a total failure. Bad casting and plots, the whole movie can just be thrown into the dump.

Well, Batman movies/stories are supposed to be dark and it is only right to have Tim Burton in the team. I supposed audience would like to watch something as original and wonderful as what Tim Burton would have to give (I just love Tim Burton's creations).

There are 3 factors on why you should give this movie a try (despite the lousy ones put on the big screen recently)

Joker

In Batman (1989), the Joker was portrayed to perfection by Jack Nicholson (right)…I mean…who can ever send the same shivers down your spine with his wickedly hilarious laughter? In here, he is totally insane and out of control. Besides, he is also much more comical and animated than the newly casted Joker (Heath Ledger). You can see that he is kinda 'cute' at certain angle. It's like a child (at least I'm not when I watched it. It doesn't give me nightmares) will not be frightened by this Joker because of the humour he injected in him. You'll only have to be afraid when you anger him.

In contrast, Heath Ledger's (left) Joker is much darker and serious (though less insane) …I must say…way better. Now, this must be the credits of the actor. You must really re-play the scenes where he licks his lips at intervals. Oh boy…he did a fantastic job of not imitating Nicholson and has been very very originally creative! How can you not love this actor? I came to know about this actor when he was co-starring with Julia Stiles in '10 Things I Hate About You' which I really really adore. Yea, I know…a teen flick but I was a teen back then. Haha…

p/s: I love heath ledger's Joker!!!

On the other hand, Michael Keaton ain't that outstanding in

his role. I still remember the impression that I had on him when I watched his first Batman role was – he's a super miang (perverted) guy. His eyes just give you the feeling that he is stripping you naked with his gaze; in a l

ess than tasteful manner. No, really! I felt like giving him a slap when he's in that batman suit. In contrast, Christian Bale;without any efforts, gives me a much better notion. So, I think it must have been the face. Michael Keaton just doesn't exude the Batman aura.

Besides, given the good storyline, Wayne's character is more natural and real this time round. Here, we can feel the emotionally alone Bruce Wayne who can be as helpless and human as a Gotham citizen and yet, he has to be the one flesh and blood hero to once again save Gotham City despite being accused and judged by critiques.

Batmobile

Batman = Human

Human = Walks = Confined to the Law of Gravity

Walks = Difficult without a Reliable Vehicle.

Superman = Fly + Laser eye + Super Strength

Spiderman = Web Threads + Use of chemicals

X-Men = Supernatural powers

So that's why, Batman always come with his own Batmobile. We can't have him taking cabs or runs to his destinations can't we? LOL…

The most interesting fact about Batmobile is that it is a real car. It is not a computer-generated graphical car but a metal-framed car which is capable of making sharp turns and jumps. Yes…jumps. The brilliant building crew of batmobile prepared one plastic toy car 'prototype' for the car before moving on to a Styrofoam version. After that would be a wooden block model before it finally can take form in metal frames. It took millions to built one batmobile but it doesn't matter. The whole Batman movie team is earning. It is no doubt a cumbersome project that took 9 months to complete just the car and another 6 months to train the batmobile driver but I guess a movie with that much of an input is definitely scoring a lot of brownie points and worth a watch.

Not only that, another beauty of the mobile is that building crew took it as their main responsibility for the filming of the car to be as realistic as possible by constructing another miniature race car for the interior scenes shooting. Amazing huh? I'd really love to test drive the car someday (test-drive in b u n n y 's dictionary means sitting in the passenger's seat and test-drive with a pro-driver)

But those are not exactly the ultimate reason to watch this movie (with the exception of experiencing the professional acting skills of Heath Ledger), one should go for this movie because of the themes found. Themes on human nature and corruption, and how the whole Gotham City can be related to the world.

When I was watching the show, every scene reminded me of my home country (yes, let's not talk about the neighboring countries or such. Ours is already a very good example). IN the imaginary city, the police force and its politicians are corrupted, sure, but why? It's due to human nature. How often is it not because of our nature which made us prone to greed and evilness. But, the magical part of this so-called nature is also very ironic. For instance, in the boat scene where the Joker threatened the civilians and criminals alike to blow up each other and yet, they did not do so – for one, they do not believe that it is justified for them to kill another similar being regardless of what their sins are.

At the same time, I also felt that Batman is like a 'mother' to the children of the city. They badly needed a role model and to be disciplined. However, somehow it doesn't change them into a better person because deep down to their core of characters, they are reluctant to make a change. That is also why, 'Mother' Batman will always be there for children of Gotham; when they needed a good spank but doesn't mind if they blame him for the harsh means of disciplinary actions because he knows what's best for them.

Ahhh…the best Batman movie of all…

Just check this sleek candy bar out and give SE some credits huh? hehee...most of the time i evaluate a phone for its value for money as well as the outlook.

2. this is SLEEK and elegant i tell you!! only weighing 95g and measuring 4.1 x 1.9 x 0.6 inches.

3. Well worth the every ringgit spent: it's a 3.2MP phone with a camera zooming up to 3.2X and comes with an auto-focus function as well as a photo-light . (cam-whoring has never been easier -- also thanks to its photoblog feature)

4. It is bluetooth-enabled and equipped with the 3G video call attribution (simply put, it has what a phone should have at this technological era).

5. Just like every other phones, it has an organizer which had helped me a lot as it enables me to put my notepad when the phone is on the standby mode. (I'm forgetful and thus, i could very much use this feature)

I've used Motorola, Nokia and Samsung handsets before, however, SE is still my favourite among all ;)p

I didn't really have the heart to go on phone shopping anymore after the death of my SE K750...i'm still depressed and so when i was at the phone fair with Jay, I was half-hearted to pick a phone. Partially it was because I didn't know what phone i should get and another also because of the economy.

It is so lousy that nowadays I always ask people to save for the rainy days. (Now it's a stormy weather)

But then, there I go again. I saw this glowing angel at the booth and shiishhh-pook, the cupid's arrow struck me.

Thank you for everything;) It's nothing much but it's by far the best and most sincere birthday gift ever ( followed by the Tarot cards pack and the HP book 7 gave by my friends.)

(ehem...it's such a wonderful gift, and i'm ashamed to say that i've dented it due to my carelessness.....its bottom part is slightly disfigured and now it left a tiny hole in my heart....sobs)
