Reminiscence

Chanel 6 at indah..it brought back memories like they just happened yesterday. The days which were long time back..with friends and with lovers. Sometimes i find a part of myself in shan because it seems like i miss the good o' days as much as she does.

But times will inevitably come to pass and people will surely experience changes for good or for worst. We all will grow up, wouldn't we?

This is the place when times were good..when times were romantic..when time witnesses a beginning. The old had drifted away but i'll feel happy if he still remember me and the new is, at the moment, the best yet despite the challenges ahead.

Ah..reminiscence..it's a luxury to be young and carefree..

Sepet

Thanks to the technology of YouTube that I finally get to watch Sepet without forking out 10 bucks and finding a space for the dvd. It is not bad...I like Orked's character and the storyline, despite being corny, is rather good. It potrayed the characteristics of both races to perfection (Some malays think roasted pork is delicious..malays and chinese are human with sexual desires..the hassles that chinese would have to go through for converting...you know..those kinda sensitive issues). Moreover, it has a certain wittiness to it and gives a charming effect especially the part where Yam and Orked's Mum teased his Dad.

The cinematography of the movie is not too bad and it has a good sense of music. I'd give it a rating of 8/10. It potrayed the relationship between the Malays and Chinese in a neutral and unbiased way. Yasmin Ahmad can really do better if she minus some of the corny parts. Yes.. the corny part when Jason meets Orked at the market....urgh...
