Sony Ericsson K770i

HAHA...i actually wanted to blog about this when i first got it but was pre-occupied with assignments and stuff...though i still am...i mean...i'm doing this entrepreneurship assignment...and i thought it would be nice to have to data to go along with it...

A demographic table of some sort would be good...am still googling for it somehow...i hope it pops up soon...

So, today, this blog will feature: SonyEricsson K770i !!!

The plus points:
1. it's cheap!!! hahaa...i mean..yes it is...at a discounted price of RM800 (original set) !! Coincidently a friend of mine also got his -- the same phone of a different color, 2 days after i've got mine. His is an AP set, priced at RM600 (a steal i'd say; to compare with its original retailing price of RM1K ;)) )

Just check this sleek candy bar out and give SE some credits huh? hehee...most of the time i evaluate a phone for its value for money as well as the outlook.

2. this is SLEEK and elegant i tell you!! only weighing 95g and measuring 4.1 x 1.9 x 0.6 inches.

3. Well worth the every ringgit spent: it's a 3.2MP phone with a camera zooming up to 3.2X and comes with an auto-focus function as well as a photo-light . (cam-whoring has never been easier -- also thanks to its photoblog feature)

4. It is bluetooth-enabled and equipped with the 3G video call attribution (simply put, it has what a phone should have at this technological era).
(Check out my babee....clear screen, smooth grip...silky surface and lovely white lights..this 770 was made during xmas '07)

5. Just like every other phones, it has an organizer which had helped me a lot as it enables me to put my notepad when the phone is on the standby mode. (I'm forgetful and thus, i could very much use this feature)

For more on its specifications, please refer to http://www.sonyericsson.com/cws/products/mobilephones/summary/k770i?cc=my&lc=en

I've used Motorola, Nokia and Samsung handsets before, however, SE is still my favourite among all ;)p

I didn't really have the heart to go on phone shopping anymore after the death of my SE K750...i'm still depressed and so when i was at the phone fair with Jay, I was half-hearted to pick a phone. Partially it was because I didn't know what phone i should get and another also because of the economy.

It is so lousy that nowadays I always ask people to save for the rainy days. (Now it's a stormy weather)

But then, there I go again. I saw this glowing angel at the booth and shiishhh-pook, the cupid's arrow struck me.

Thank you for everything;) It's nothing much but it's by far the best and most sincere birthday gift ever ( followed by the Tarot cards pack and the HP book 7 gave by my friends.)

(ehem...it's such a wonderful gift, and i'm ashamed to say that i've dented it due to my carelessness.....its bottom part is slightly disfigured and now it left a tiny hole in my heart....sobs)

my humble few cents

Interestingly, the previous blog post got an almost instantaneous reply from its author. Wow…talk about the technology nowadays.

Anyways, I see that this topic had sparked quite an opinion contribution here and when I read the comments, I thought : Just how can I be left out in this!

Ahh…just how much and how deep do I know about the politics and economy of the world (despite the fact that I do read…at times, I wasn’t even sure of what I was reading…LOL) ? I’m just a normal science stream student who doesn’t take in much fancy (or some would have it as ignorant) of the on-goings in my country during my secondary years of schooling (in which I’m rather ashamed of). Anyways…of course I have a very good reason of why is that so.

There was a time that I completely shun away newspapers (which at that time was TheStar, the one paper that my Dad always read). Why? When I open the first few pages, it was always followed by politics. The contributions made by several parties and all. Sighs. The kind of news which made you thought that, is those are all what they do??

Because, contradictorily to all the good published on the first few pages, the next few were all crime news. Rapes, murders, break-ins and the like. Worst of it is that the cases got from bad to worse each time I read them. Then, after that section, like if the world is round again and the papers move on to properties, advertorials and world news.

I stop reading the papers for a time and only after a while when I start reading again, I move on to another better news source which covers news on a slightly more neutral position.

I was just depressed reading all these news. I guess it was part of growing up that the realization comes in like a slab of concrete cement hitting on my adolescent skull. The world is like that. Take it or leave it.

I was wondering, just WHY…WHY nothing was ever being done to relieve all the social stress? WHY people, mankind; whom philosophers suggested were inherently good in nature and they are born pure. Then again, we can’t help it, can we? What can some 4% of Malaysians (PR or not) do if they can barely make ends meet? They were considered as being uneducated (unfortunately) and when times are hard, do you actually think that they will know what are the appropriate steps to be taken and to whom should they channel their thoughts as well as opinions to?

I am sorry to say that – NO, they don’t and they just thought that their voices are too tiny to be heard by the higher authorities! So what do they do to survive? They steal, rob, be part of some illegal activities and boy, you’d be more naïve than me to think that there will be some of the 4% who could change their fate and rise up to a better status. Hah…again, how many of them will? 1 or 10? Or 50?

They can’t even earn a decent living and they have so much more on their mind to worry about – so please, do you think that they still have the mood to complain about their hardship and just how much the new increased consumer prices index have affected them?

It’s again another big bold NO.

So, why the middle classes are being labeled as so-called ‘making noises’? They made up the majority for one. Second, their feedbacks are not considered as making noise but merely constructive criticism. But of course, none of it will be taken if they are then labeled as noise – which I seriously thought it would be a pity. Don’t you agree?

“Mr. A wants opinions and when given, Mr. A refused to take and appreciate the comments but in turn was saying that, those are not true. Those are not what that are really happening. Please have faith in me once again and I will prove everyone that your comments are not to be taken seriously because you lots are not the insiders”.

And with regards to the second comment posted: 26 millions are allowing the above situation to occur and we’ve got into the scenario of today is due to our own faults.

HAH. That’s laughable.

A nation cannot be mould with a few protests just as Rome can’t be built in a day.

I believe, deep down to the core, what one citizen can do is very limited due to the way Malaysia is being run. Some of them don’t even bother at all if the things are not in a critical condition. Yes. Critical (read: the current situation).

Because? Oh…Malaysians are one tolerant lot seriously. That’s both a compliment as well as a criticism. Being tolerant brought us all races live up to this date but being tolerant had landed us into this mess (why do I termed it mess – well…all Malaysian should have known why: bad city planning and *headaches* disorganized rail system. Not only that, but when I recently read this piece of news. I’m aghast. ‘Zero death’ – since when NS training is a death chamber??) In addition, what truly can the citizen do besides protesting and demonstrating? (They will just end up being counterstriked with chemicals and tear gas OR if some big shot decided to call a boycott of some sort, they will then be threatened with some certain agencies. Besides that, a petition is good as nothing because when being submitted, somehow it will end up in the trash bin).

As said, human is inherently selfish. A human has got a family to care for and a job to keep. Lower middle class workers barely have got the time to breathe, let alone join in forces to do a street protest. Ah, and one must thought, how about those in the wealthy category?

Well, to them, this is all the more none of their business unless they wealth is at risk. Even good and efficient politicians are having a hard time trying to set the mess right. If only everyone is united, then things would have been settled in a much easy manner.

I should say, everyone will only come together when there is an inevitable and irreversible damage done to the country. Uhm…something like the Sichuan earthquake or the World War…

Which, of course, is quite impossible. Ehem, anyways to take part in a demonstration is not as simple as how one puts it. It requires planning and lots of thinking (well..that is if they do not want their demonstrations to go wasted. After all Malaysians are one civilized lot!) But, nevertheless, I must express my grief to say that we have already been segregated by the authorities in many many…just too many ways. And of recent, Malaysians are afraid to even step out of their house after the dark. (Crime cases are on the rise and only God knows why).

during these days we can barely help ourselves, just how can we be a good samaritan (or Mother Theresa/P. Diana of the modern times) ?

Due to my laziness

Well, having multiply is good enough until I got fed-up because they keep sending you mails telling you that you've violated the copyrights when you upload song files -- till the extent that you can no longer download recommended songs in multiply...which is really sad!!!

Anyways, I still keep multiply as a place where I could share albums with my friends but somehow this thought of getting one account at blogspot just pops up. That was how I created one account and started synchronizing it. Easy huh? So that I don't have to do much but just reap the benefits of the technology with just a few strokes at the keyboard.

That was what got me into...uhm...i wouldn't say it was a trouble because i don't see nor feel guilty for what was posted. it was a rant to a dear friend that somehow got leaked out. a rant which is right to the point without additional bitching and names calling. it isn't even projected through baseless allegations.

I couldn't at all tell the person right off because I have a dear heart to take care of so that no hard feelings were resulted. And it'd save all the unnecessary defensive remarks and such.

Anyways, the reason this blog entry was created is just to clear the air. I do not know if the previous post had caused an impact or not but this is just out of the fact that i hope the comments made were being taken as a constructive criticism.

To:Dzof Azmi (by us)

Dear editor,

If he was asking the editorial to bump up the font to size 14, then please do enlarge mine to double of that. In case you are in the dark of who I’m pointing this out to; please refer to ‘Get the Big Picture?’ of Starmag, Sunday 22nd June 2008.

Upon reading the whole article again and yet again (just to ensure that I’m not passing the wrong judgment or merely making a fool out of myself by criticizing a good man), I realised that I can only agree on one statement which the logical Dzof Azmi wrote. That is – We are inherently selfish. True to his statement, all human is.

Then again, we should open our flawed human eyes (myopic or not) big enough to see that THE fuel hike and rise in consumers’ price index IS THE HUMONGOUS picture. Seriously, I wish to politely request all critiques (consciously stated or not) to have a reality check on what IS the big picture and not just take any random photo from the album. That simply would not be fair.

The rakyat voices out their dissatisfactions because Malaysia IS deemed a democratic country and the people do have the rights to express their views publicly, or not? as long as it is not based on pure hearsay and projects baseless accusations. And just why can’t they? The price of regular petrol is now at a whooping RM2.704/litre!

Malaysia is not a country inhibited by fools; as such her people will speak their mind when they feel it is called for. Perhaps, one may ask, who decides on what issues to debate on and when would it be appropriate to do so – rest assured, the answer lies within us, rakyat Malaysia.

Anyway, let us not digress further because words could cause the censure of the whole comment. Let us get on track and focus on the issue which I have decided to take some time off from my ever compounding work schedule (which is on the up-trend due to the spiraling prices of commodities and my ever stagnating pay).

I am totally outraged.

No doubt the country, through past leaderships, has done a superb job with fuel subsidies (which is highly doubtful reporting, as during the layout of our national budget a.k.a Belanjawan Negara for so many a years, I have never once heard of the subsidy for petroleum) and no one is complaining, really. Therefore, no one would actually grumble IF they are told as to what good the hard-earned tax-payer’s monies are being used for. Good use would be termed as projek-projek which benefits the rakyat and Malaysia as a whole.

With the above statement in mind, one have to ask, how many a times have we seen abandoned projects? How many a times have we witnessed the rise of ever new monumental structures boasting state-of-the-art facilities being used to its fullest capacity when all we need is an ordinary office block? How many a times have we attempted to claim World-breaking-Records with the most extreme of jumps over the North Pole; or the tallest flag pole; or the first in the region to have sent a man into outer space, of which the intended purpose I am still unclear (no written reports were published based on his so-called experiments); or even the biggest dam (Empangan Bakun) in the region, which to my knowledge has suffered multiple abandonment and revivals? Is it really necessary to place ourselves right smack in the eyes of the world communities when we could have just used a portion of the funds to maintain and expand our LRT and public transportation systems; suburban developments; or agricultural research and developments; etc.?

Just how many a times?

There we go again, the lot who gripes the most are the middle income earners. Hmm…the last I checked, our government reported that rakyats whom are under the poverty line are now less than 4% of the population (2007 statistics). Unless I am being deceived, the majority of Malaysians are therefore middle income earners, right? As such, is it not a norm that the grievances of the majority tend to be underlined? I stand corrected.

Just how can a country progress when the majority of her people are gripped by the feelings of uncertainty? The present, with the rise of daily consumables due to shortages in supply, is in itself a struggle and as the people are still in the midst of making adjustments to their daily lifestyles, here come another major slam. The rakyat may not be anywhere near starvation but we are definitely no better off. If indeed the people of the country have to be on the brink of poverty before they are eligible to be opined, then we shall all resign en-masse in order for our voices to be heard.

The country is being affected as a whole – of course, thank you Dzof Azmi for putting that into perspective – that is why her people are getting loud. Prices of commodities, though on an upward trend, have never seen such tremendous increase in such a short amount of time. It has escalated so fast and so hard which is why the majority of the people are finding it increasingly difficult to play catch-up. We are not whining because we have less disposable income now, it is mainly due to the fact that necessities (food, household items, petrol) of life have become something which we have we would all term as luxuries.

On a final note, bar making any further deceptive comparisons with our neighbouring state (read: Singapore) which is not naturally bestowed with the gifts of nature in abundance as we are, but still stand out among the rest of the developed nations of the world, Malaysians are indeed in for a gloomy future.

random thoughts at 1:30am

Slept for 2 and so hours before this. Suddenly I came to realize...I never regret being the one who was let down by.

The post I posted up previously on The Songs of Yesterday are not, no longer of importance because I suddenly came to appreciate a person who was here all along. Even though through all the glitches.

I don't know when it will come to an end or if it will...but it doesn't matter. Really.
The present is what matters most.

Ahh...

  • Sony Ericsson service center (in Sg. Wang which was manned by 3 staffs: 1 big boobs, 1 Oh-I'm-The-Gurl-Round-The-Block and another i-don't-speak-cantonese-sorry guy by the name of Joe --- super lousy service I tell you)
  • should instead use sarcasm and a civilized manner when I'm to talk with Ms Big boobs and Oh-I'm-The-Gurl-Round-The-Block )

  • Hell do I care. I will still be rude when some biatches were treating people who went to the center for phone servicing like we are begging for their mercy and started to show some biatchy attitude. (but of course, now I will emulate him and try to make my rudeness even better -- be superb rude with no chance for them to rebutt)
note: That's why I need to work super extra duper hard and get a good job so that I wouldn't get a job at some service/call center and be called a biatch or being biatch at. LOL
  • Nice. (She was being nice...talking nicely and all. So I felt guilty for giving her a hard time!! I knew she was fake but still...I can't resist when people is speaking nicely. Joe was different. I give him 2 days and I want the original colour)

  • You give him face, Your problem. I'll bitch if I don't get what I demanded.

  • Maggie Mee Classics...quirks

  • Idiots that say both the govt and its people have to brave through the difficulties (which was in the first place created due to some people who thought they have all the rights to use it and send some donkeyKong up to space)

songs of the yesterday

We went to fix the car cd player the other day. He had got a his car but doesn't want the player and just right that mine is broken. so he thought of replacing it with mine. well...i'm alright with it. something extra wouldn't hurt.

but just too bad that the plugs are different. sony and clarion. so we just leave it be and took the cds down. He's got my ori in his player while I took back the pirated ones. Those were the ones I burnt last 2 years.

Amazingly, now is year 2008 already. and 2 years went passed just like that. everything seems good. a friend who is out in UK is soon to come home. I guess he will too.

Just somehow when i listen to those cds, the memories came flooding back. memories of the years left behind.

Hmm...it was bitter sweet and that was what making it memorable. The memories weren't clear...they enter my mind like a fuzzy display on some old TV sets. Things were not so clear and even till this day at the time of typing, they are not too.

But it isn't important now.

It was not in the past so why would it be now. I just hope that he would find a better future. (Of course, I highly hope that my future would be better..HAHA)

Yea...whatever it is....no point reminiscing someone who is so uncool and unappreciative.

p.s: pretty scaring on how songs can invoke long memories. and also...emotions. I guess the wound is only partially healed and the current medication is not helpful enough. But one thing for sure. I never regret.

*******

Move onto another thing.

I'd like to blog about fortune tellers.

Wow...you will be amazed on how much they earn during these hard times. See..they don't have to pay additional tax and they work from home. And superstitious people go flocking to him.

Hehe...I can't say that I'm 100% not superstitious. I believe that there are something beyond Human strength and ability out there and there are this group of people with unique gifts who are said to possess the Third Eye or able to foresee the future.

I believe there are people with these talents. Yet, nowadays you can hardly find a honest one. You find a lot of fakes and in this sea filled with deceit, it's just difficult to find one whom you can trust.

My grandfather knew of a fortune teller who can really peer into a person's future. That was so many years back and I doubt that he is still alive though.

Anyways...there went the other day when I visited this fortune teller with my friends. bloody 80 bucks for a fortune to be told. hahaa..there's nothing like in the movies where they only tell your fortune if you are fated to know them. I mean...c'mon...anything now can be bought with money.

So I just join in the fun and see if I could get myself amused....checking out to see if this is a fake or real. (Many clairvoyants are experts in reading body languages and catching cues in order for them to make predictions which are claimed to be true)

My friends say that he is very accurate with his predictions. Well, I'm keeping a neutral opinion. I couldn't say that he is accurate but some of the things he said was true. Perhaps he was able to tell from my dressing and the way i acted or the way I spoke to him.

I was keeping quiet from the moment I enter the room, giving him the time to tell my fortunes. I was being very quiet and only nodded and laugh when necessary --just to not let him felt like an idiot talking to the wall.
LOL.

Anyways...I thought the books (used to help the diviner to foresee future/past/etc) are no doubt genuine and perhaps, this old man is gifted but he is just not too good in interpreting them.

For one, he said that my dad holds high managerial or government post...uhmm..nope
second, I was said to be prone to injuries on my legs but heck...my legs have never been better. I was so flexible that even if i was on a wrong footing, I didn't sprain them.
third, when i asked him about my characteristic, he didn't tell me much more than me being a hardworking and a person who know how to save (very well). this i guess he could see when he saw me and oni-chan holding books when we went into the living room.
fourth, I asked if my life was destined to be elsewhere, as in if I would have what chinese called the luck to travel.
he told me no and said however, I did travel last year. uhm..too bad, that was this year...not last.

He didn't tell me much on my past, unlike a friend of mine whom got her past accurately being told by this man. Perhaps he couldn't make very good guesses due to my lack of co-operation. So, he talked mostly on my future. But interestingly, if he is good, he could have knew what matters most in my life. Instead of telling me on my career path, he choose to talk to me about my relationships.

To end, events are fated to happen but the future is for you to design.

Well...nothing binds me to anything and if I do listen to fortune-tellers, then I have already admitted defeat and willingly but unconsciously realizing the told future.

I'm part of the RM 2.70 malaysia history

Went for a road trip yesterday and it was fun. It was until I got a call informing me that there was a price hike (fuel). After that, text messages were being busily circulated. My phone itself had a few of such messages.

Initially, I thought it was a hoax -- only to find out that it is not. It's totally outrageous! A promise was made but is never being kept. And what about the slogan of 'Security, Peace and Prosperity?' It was a total bullshyte!

Along the way back from muar, we saw lines of car queuing up and that was quite something. I think it was a long time back since the petrol stations have this much customers within hours.
<--- When we went in to pump petrol for the journey back, the queue wasn't that bad but after a while like say...20mins...the situation worsen till like this :

So,today, after my entrepreneurship lecture, I went on to have a lil' chat with S, an interesting lecturer compared to previous ones who don't know how to teach elective (except maybe for the lecturer who taught english)

I was asking him if he thought the price will climb again to RM4 in 2 months time. He was shaking his head and I thought he must have been eager to release some pent-up frustrations as from this one question, it lead him into talking for 30mins until we were interrupted by the maintenance staff.

He anticipated a demonstration and said that these few days would be rather critical in determining Malaysia's future -- provided if the right button and right move was made. Well...LahLah and his 5 advisers better prepare a better stage play but anyhow I don't think they are still able to defend their position. Just too bad because to have such a drastic increment that shocked the market and fellow malaysian is a seriously wrong move.

And amusingly they thought a one-off RM625 rebate is so damned helpful ~~

anyways...whatever it is...this PakLah is sure going to call it a day as a PM...so now the main concern would be who will be the next PM.. and so i googled about and found this.

and this.

ahhh..all don't look promising to me. Suddenly I felt that my future is pretty bleak and I wanted so much to graduate with my degree and move out to find my future (hopeful in the research line and fingers crossed..bag a master home)

before I sleep...

I wanted to write about many things today but since i'm having a road trip tomorrow, I should just leave this and sleep early.

So, I'll just keep it to the basics :

1. Shing said that the petrol price will increase yet again by RM0.60 and my jaw dropped. Then, during the night yum cha session, another friend said that by max, it'll be a RM0.40 increment. I'm like...&*#@&$$@* (anyways, according to the news, only foreign-registered cars will need to pay the market price...really? well...all i know is they always twist and turn their words and maybe everyone will just have to pay the non-subsidized price?! &*&^)%$&)

2. Propaganda or not (whatever it is), I love what I read and particularly love this comment

" I had my share of voting for ruling and opposition parties when i had the chance to do it.

As much as i love my Malaysia, being born in a chinese family had it's disadvantages to my family and me for all my 44 living years.

Which caused me to find a job overseas and avoids me paying tax in Malaysia. Indirectly i don't need to feed those in power to oppress me a valid Malaysian citizen. I'm sure there are alot more Malaysians working overseas like me for the same reasons.

Will i return to Malaysia one day? i will for sure. it's still my country - not China"

3. I agree with the M'sian Govt regarding the fuel policy. M'sian products are for M'sians and foreigners from the north/south should not to enjoy the subsidies. For M'sians using foreign registered vehicles, I suggest they sell off their vehicles and use M'sian registered vehicles instead. We M'sians must use Msian products. If not, you shouldn't say you are M'sian.
-- comment on fuel subsidiaries..

well..I say, if malaysians must use malaysians products, as what he said, then I assume that he only uses malaysian products in everything? i'd love to visit his house and check out what malaysian products he is using...is he sure that he's using all products labeled made in malaysia? hohoho...

okay..should really sleep...
