The story of a commoner

Every month, I have a list to spend on,
My wages are limited and the list is a foot long,
It rolls down like a royal parchment,
I shudder and wonder why do I deserve this punishment,
Recession went global and all prices hike,
Lucky ones may not feel the rise but the middle-class sure go yikes!
Bills and groceries, fuel and contact lens,
and That's when my wages drip to an end.....

I'm glad that I'm single and young,
In contrast with the married and old,
They have an elder son, young daughter and a dog,
They have an apartment and a car,
And a debt-free life which is still very far,
The son is begging for an education, the daughter is crying for food,
The dog is thirst for water and yes even water has become pricey goods,
but who can we blame, who can we blame?
Those politicians go to fame, and the people has now gone in flames!
